About Us

The Belgium Bears is a social group run by gay men for hairy gay, bisexual and trans men and admirers of all ages, shapes and races who identify themselves with the bear community.

In male gay culture, a bear is often a larger, hairier man who projects an image of rugged masculinity. Bears are one of many LGBT communities with events, codes, and a culture-specific identity.

We organise social events on a monthly basis. Check our calendar if you wish to know our planned activities. If you become Member of Belgium Bears, will be kept informed about our upcoming events via our newsletter.

We regularly use social media such as Facebook, Twitter, our website and monthly newsletters to promote our events.

We have a committee of 3 and are supported by volunteers on an ongoing basis. We organise monthly and annual social events in Belgium (Flanders, Brussels, Wallonia). We also travel to support other Bear groups.

We are independent and rely completely on donations, merchandise sales, sponsors and admission charges where applicable. This income being used for the benefit of the club, including equipment hire & purchase, fees and expenses for our social events, promotional material, etc.
